Faith in Action Williamsburg is all about giving back. Our volunteers are amazing selfless individuals and exemplify the spirit of giving back. Sometimes our volunteers are part of an even bigger network of people helping people! Many of our volunteers like Arthur help with food pantry deliveries through other local non-profits and assistance programs. Food security continues to be a big challenge, especially for seniors who are often on a fixed or low income budget. Volunteers and donors work together and rise the challenge. Thanks to our volunteers, the food pantry recipients have fresh and nutritious food delivered to their homes or apartments. Many recipients struggle to bring groceries up or down stairs so our volunteers can lend a helping hand. Those few extra steps go a long way, because sometimes, it’s about more than the food. A friendly smile and knowing someone cares is, as one care receiver put it, “the biggest blessing to me.”
